Paleontological Collection

It consists of hundreds of thousands of representatives of major fossil groups from Portuguese backgrounds, covering virtually all periods between the Cambrian and the Quaternary, which occurred in Portugal, being exposed only a small portion, consisting mainly of specimens figured or chosen by the quality of its preservation.

Overall, noteworthy collections of Tertiary fossils of mammals and dinosaurs. Among groups of invertebrates, should be noted, by size and variety, the collections of ammonites, bivalves, gastropods and brachiopods.

Among its main organizers, should mention, among others Carlos Ribeiro, Nery Delgado, Paul Choffat, and more recently, Geoges Zbyszewski and O. da Veiga Ferreira.
