en bref
Before being drawn to Leipzig and Weimar, the Friedrich spent two exciting years here from July 1783 to April 1785, which were crucial to his further professional career. In this time, Schiller lived at various residences in Mannheim. His last abode was probably the Hölzelschen Haus in Mannheim, B5, 8. This architectural ensemble no longer exists today. However, the preserved neighboring complex B5, 7 conveys an impression of the young Schiller’s living situation in the final months of his sojourn in the city.
