The exhibition was opened in the Old Town in Tesanj in April 2013. At the opening ceremony the guests were welcomed by museum director Jasmin Mandzukic, and by the exhibition's curator Ana Maric, archaeologist for latency and numismatics. This collection of museum Tesanj includes more than five hundred copies of various coins, and was created in a short period of existence of the museum, mainly by gifts from individuals or institutions, and some coins were bought. Some of the examples of coins have been found in the Old Town Tesanj.
The permanent exhibition represents coins from all eras of civilization development, primarily from the area of today's Bosnia and Herzegovina, in addition to coins that date back to the Illyrian tribes Daors. The coins are historically important because they illustrate the social changes in recent centuries in this part of the Balkans.
