ZEPHYR - Space for photography!

in detail

Since early 2005, ZEPHYR has turned its multifaceted program of international contemporary art into numerous individual, group and four expansive thematic shows on its own premises and in the Reiss-Engelhorn-Museen. ZEPHYR exhibitions are presently viewed by over 22,000 visitors a year.

The year 2007 revolved around two major thematic exhibitions: Tracking the Evidence: Mannheim Police Photography 1946-1971 was the first exhibition of German historical police photography and represents a genuine milestone in the discovery of a hitherto undiscovered genre in Europe. In MY VISION – Ideas for the World of Tomorrow, nineteen international artists presented their visions for the future and their approach to visions in photography, video and installations. In 2006, ZEPHYR put on FotoChina, an exhibition of the award winners of the BASF Creative Competition.
