Linz Castle Museum

in detail

The Castle Museum with its new southern wing (since July 2009) is considered a universal museum (Austria’s largest on one site), and grants extensive and impressive, universal access to the natural, cultural and art history of the State of Upper Austria. These collection areas, which range from geology to contemporary history and include versatile and extensive special areas, are located in the new southern wing of the historic castle.
The new permanent exhibitions Technik and Natur - which are both among Austria’s largest holdings in this regard - show to visitors interesting aspects on Upper Austrian technological and natural history. A diverse offer of tours and workshops rounds out the educational exhibition content.
