Palazzo Grassi - François Pinault Foundation

in detail

Palazzo Grassi and Punta della Dogana present important exhibitions of contemporary art through works of the François Pinault Collection. Works by the most important artists of our time—from Maurizio Cattelan and Jeff Koons, to Alighiero Boetti and Sigmar Polke—testify to the tireless energy and tenacious spirit of discovery that, over the course of the past few years, have contributed to the formation of one of the largest art collections in the world.
Additionally, Palazzo Grassi and Punta della Dogana invite their visitors to attend a series of meetings and conferences: the cycle of weekly talks, L’opera parla, which focus on a single work or artist in the current exhibition (organized in collaboration with the staff of Ca’ Foscari, IUAV and Venice’s Academy of Fine Arts); monthly meetings with the artists whose works are on display; and finally, the st_art workshops for children age 4-10.

These activities testify to Palazzo Grassi and Punta della Dogana’s commitment to improving their dialogue with the public and to making their spaces a center of discussion and debate on artistic—but also literary, architectonic and historical—themes of particular interest.
