In this extraordinary place, visitors can trace the city’s cultural history from the 11th to the 21st century. Authentic artefacts offer a nostalgic look at our fascinating past. A total of seven buildings are waiting to welcome you with exhibitions, special events and educational programs.

The Humpis Quarter is one of the best-preserved, late medieval residential areas in southern Germany.

It was in the 15th century that the Humpis family of international traders gave this group of buildings the shape and layout we see today.
In this extraordinary place, visitors can trace the city’s cultural history from the 11th to the 21st century. Authentic artefacts offer a nostalgic look at our fascinating past.
A total of seven buildings are waiting to welcome you with exhibitions, special events and educational programs.

Audioguide
Discover the sounds of the museum: with a range of voices, music and noises, our English language audio guide brings the exhibits to life! Audioguide free (Photo ID required as deposit.)

Guided Tours
Follow the merchant Hans Humpis on a journey into the past when the Great Ravensburg Trading Society conducted business with the whole of Europe, or listen to the artisan Johannes Wucherer as he talks about the history of the trade guilds in the Imperial city. (max. 25 persons, 80 € per group plus a reduced entrance fee of 3 € p.p.) 

Interactive workshop for children
Children can take part in free interactive workshops every Saturady from March to November: Making paper, making felt, writing in the Middle Ages, and more. From 10 am – 1 pm in the Museum Society house.
