The museum's permanent collection is built around late-Gothic (late 15th - early 16th century) paintings and sculptures, and a 19th century paintings and sculptures collection by Flemish masters including Constantin Meunier, Jef Lambeaux en Georges Minne. The crown jewels of the museum are The Last Supper (1464-1468) by Dieric Bouts, the so-called Edelheere Triptych (1433), which is the earliest known copy of Rogier van der Weyden’s Descent from the Cross, and the Gnomon and Calendar-plate (circa 1500).
Apart from the permanent collection, M also offers temporary exhibitions, ranging from exhibitions by old masters to contemporary, young artists. Due to the varied offer of paintings, sculptures, photography, video and architecture, every visit is an unique experience. There are all kinds of activities and programs which built around the exhibitions for the young to the not-so-young, for families and individual visitors, for groups and businesses.
