The Haus der Geschichte presents Germany history from the End of World War II to the present day on over 4.000 square meters of display area.
The permanent exhibition presents political, economic and social history, everyday living conditions and important aspects from the world of art and culture.
Haus der Geschichte der Bundesrepublik Deutschland Foundation
The whole area of the museum is about 22.000 square metres. 4.000 square metres for the permanent display and 650 square metres for the changing expositions are available. The centre of the house, starting point and end of the guided tour, is the spaciously foyer.
From here the different areas of the museum are accessible: expositions, hall, seminar room, conference room, Information Centre, café, shop and administration.

Bundesrat
The Haus der Geschichte presents the Information Centre on Federalism at the Bundesrat. An exhibition provides an inside view of the history and work of the Bundesrat. It is possible to visit the exhibition and the historic conference hall with a guided tour.
Kanzlerbungalow
The Haus der Geschichte offers free guided tours through the Kanzlerbungalow, the former residential and representative building of the German Chancellors. The tour shows insights in the representative and private rooms. An exposition informs about the Chancellor and the use of the building.
Palais Schaumburg
Palais Schaumburg is one of the major historical sites in the former Government Quarter in Bonn. From 1949 to 1976 all Chancellors conducted the affairs of government here. Thereafter the Palais is used mainly for ceremonial functions. In 2000 it is designated as the Chancellor´s official Bonn residence.
The Haus der Geschichte offers free guided tours through the historic rooms of the Palais Schaumburg.
