Klovićevi dvori Gallery

in detail

The exhibition activity started on March 15, 1982, in what was then called the Museum Space, and with its attractive programme it recorded great success, opening up a new chapter in the cultural life of Zagreb. Devising art events, the new marketing approach, the production of souvenirs and publishing, along the lines of world institutions of the kind, resulted in classic exhibitions of national importance, as well as the presentation of world cultural values.
We recall 1984 and the exhibition of Ancient Chinese Culture, which attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors.  Apart from the major exhibitions of the national and world heritage, the gallery has also featured contemporary fine art, presenting the oeuvres of artists with made reputations and also promoting new names on the scene.
Thanks to its many years of experience, the gallery is also co-organiser of many important Croatian appearances around the world. The Little Art Workshop, in which the very young are taught about expression in the arts, follows the exhibition projects with a specially designed syllabus.
Since it started working, the gallery has also been in charge of the Lotrščak Tower, an information point, souvenir shop and a site for smaller exhibitions with particular kinds of content.
