On 18 October 1813, the allied armies of Russia, Prussia, Austria and Sweden forced Napoleon’s army into retreat, marking the end of his hegemony in Europe. Some 500,000 soldiers from all over Europe fought over the political future of the continent in this battle, one of the cruellest of the 19th century.

In the FORUM 1813, weapons, uniforms, equipment and private souvenirs give an impression of tragic times of war, and also reflect on the life of a soldier of the period.
