This collection was formed by separating money collection out of the historic permanent exhibition in 2011, according to a new internal organization and the needs of the museum and modern trends in museology.
The collection currently counts about 300 pieces of coins and paper money (from the time of the Roman Empire to the notes from the period 1992-1995), and dozens of different medallions and medals with a tendency to increase.
