in detail

It is very rare to find a mosaic of this standard in the region because the sourness of the soil prevents its preservation. Its rarity, dimension and constitution justified its integration in the crypt-space of the museum.
One of the mosaic panels depicts a collection of houses divided by a transep of opposing colours. The other is decorated with small squares depicting hour-glasses with granitic and limestone tesserae.
