in detail
Christoph Sandig developed an interest in panorama photography long before it became much easier due to digital technology. Because of his decades of work as a very popular photographer he got to know Leipzig artists and the art scene of the city from “an insider’s perspective“ at the places where art was created. For two years, he took panorama format photographs of Leipzig artists in their studios. This led to a particularly diverse series of more than 100 photographs. These photographs allow a fascinating glance behind the scenes, they provide tell-tale impressions of who loves order and who needs creative chaos and, at the same time, they describe, in an unusual manner, a chapter in Leipzig’s artistic history.
