Museum Europäischer Kulturen

in detail

... 'daHEIM: glances into fugitive lives' is a collaboration between the Museum Europäischer Kulturen, artist barbara caveng, the art project KUNSTASYL and inhabitants of the Staakener Strasse residence for asylum seekers in Berlin-Spandau. Employing the arts and methods of cultural anthropology within an experimental, workshop-like format, the exhibition will reveal the experiences, desires, life perspectives and domestic environments of people who have been forced to flee. Examples from refugees within, to and from Europe in the 19th and 20th centuries embed this contemporary topic in its historical context.
