in detail

St. Thomas Boys' Choir and St. Thomas School are the city of Leipzig's two oldest educational and cultural institutions and, with their rich tradition, they continue to ensure the high-quality of Leipzig's cultural life. On the occasion of this anniversary, visitors to the Museum of City History can go on a tour of discovery of the history of St. Thomas Boys’ Choir and, due to seeing valuable exhibits and hitherto unknown documents from a time-span of eight centuries, they will develop an impression of what it has meant to be a member of St. Thomas Boys’ Choir in the different eras – and what it means today.
This exhibition is supplemented by a studio exhibition featuring everyday life at St. Thomas Boys‘ Choir at the present time by the Leipzig photographer Gert Mothes.
