Palais Schaumburg is one of the major historical sites in the former Government Quarter in Bonn. From 1949 to 1976 all Chancellors conducted the affairs of government here. Thereafter the Palais is used mainly for ceremonial functions. In 2000 it is designated as the Chancellor´s official Bonn residence.

The Haus der Geschichte offers free guided tours through the historic rooms of the Palais Schaumburg.
